Geographic data licences and attribution appear on each map and in exported clips.

The 5-level danger scale and its travel-advice wording (src/config/avalanche.ts) follow the
North American Public Avalanche Danger Scale (NAPADS), maintained by avalanche.org, the American
Avalanche Association (AAA) and the USFS National Avalanche Center. This applies to the colour
scale (green/yellow/orange/red/dark red for Low/Moderate/Considerable/High/Extreme) and to the
English travel-advice sentence shown at each level; the Extreme-level sentence, "Avoid all
avalanche terrain," is used verbatim. SnowWind does not compute or assert a danger value itself —
it displays the owner-recorded official rating for the day (see /api/admin/danger) against this
standard scale.
