About this activity
A climbing experience on the natural rock of Otaru Akaiwa, planned around a route that can be climbed in hiking boots. The specific route and arrangements are to be confirmed by the guide.
Select every date you can attend: October 6, 7 or 8. This is a one-day activity, not a three-day tour. The guide will choose the day according to the weather.
Please confirm your participation by October 4 at 20:00 Japan time. Meet at the Shimo-Akaiwayama trailhead; meeting time is pending. Cancellation charges and the bad-weather cancellation policy remain to be confirmed.
The organizer assists with Japanese interpretation. No previous climbing experience is required. A helmet and harness can each be rented for ¥1,000 (¥2,000 for both). Participants must arrange their own insurance. Hiking boots are sufficient. Bring climbing shoes if you own them for a more comfortable climb. One pair each in sizes 27.5 cm and 23.5 cm is available to rent; shoe rental price and availability are to be confirmed. Complete the details below for each participant. Rental requests are subject to final confirmation by the guide. This experience does not confer a qualification.
Yamano Makochan guides hiking, climbing, stream ascents and winter mountain activities in Hokkaido. He shares mountain knowledge and risk awareness through his blog, videos and field instruction. He leads this Otaru Akaiwa experience; the organizer supports Japanese interpretation and registration.

I will arrange participant insurance that covers this mountain/climbing activity, including relevant injury and rescue costs, and check coverage with the insurer. Participant insurance is not included in the guide fee. Guide liability-insurance evidence has not been supplied; a SnowWind listing does not guarantee insurance coverage.
